Chibane, auteur, compositeur et interprète algérien, né à Alger en 1984, explore diverses influences musicales tout en restant ancré dans ses racines nord-africaines. Après avoir été membre du groupe Diwan Dzair et du projet Matouche au Maroc, il revient en Algérie pour créer sa propre fusion world music. En 2014, il signe avec One Shot et sort son premier album Melomania en 2016, suivi de Music-Houl en 2018, alliant music-hall algérien et jazz festif. Engagé, il écrit des chansons lors des manifestations du Hirak, ce qui lui vaut une interdiction de se produire en Algérie en 2022. Il émigre alors au Québec, où il travaille sur un nouveau projet musical, fusionnant ses racines et son expérience québécoise. Chibane aspire à toucher un large public et à célébrer la diversité culturelle, comme en témoignent ses participations aux festivals Orientalys (2022) et du Monde Arabe (2024).

Chibane, an Algerian singer, songwriter, and composer born in Algiers in 1984, blends various musical influences while staying rooted in his North African heritage. After being a member of Diwan Dzair and the Matouche project in Morocco, he returned to Algeria to create his own world music fusion. In 2014, he signed with One Shot and released his first album Melomania in 2016, followed by Music-Houl in 2018, combining Algerian music-hall with festive jazz. Politically engaged, he wrote songs during the Hirak protests, leading to a performance ban in Algeria in 2022. He then moved to Quebec, where he’s working on a new musical project that fuses his roots with his Quebecois experience. Chibane aims to reach a wider audience and celebrate cultural diversity, as seen in his performances at festivals like Orientalys (2022) and the Arab World Festival (2024).
